Fairchild Perfects OEM Replacement Weatherstrip for Ford Crown Victoria
August 15, 2005 – Lake Zurich, IL – After a year of research and development, Fairchild Industries has perfected a process for manufacturing replacement door weatherstrip and fixed window channel for the Ford Crown Victoria, model years 1992-2003. “The challenge was to make seamless corners that joined two straight, extruded pieces of rubber – and have it fit exactly,” said Joel Schauer, General Manager of Fairchild Industries. “It took nearly 200 prototypes, each tested on actual Ford Crown Victoria cars for us to get the exact fit required for exact replacement.”
The Ford Motor Company’s Crown Victoria has been a utility sedan widely used as a standard in police and taxicab fleets.
