Greetings from all of us at Fairchild Industries. I hope you are having a very productive summer. I am excited to tell you that all the very hard work this company has undertaken over the past year to achieve registration to ISO 9001 2000 standards has finally taken us across the finish line. Our final audit determined that any and all nonconformances that may have existed have now been corrected and the auditor has recommended us for registration. We anticipate receiving our official plaque and banner sometime in the next 30 days.

This accomplishment is the ultimate Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval for industrial firms, one that has been achieved by less than 500,000 companies in the entire world. It will allow Fairchild Industries to be recognized by our automotive and industrial customers and prospects alike as a supplier whose products, processes and systems conform to the highest standard of quality. It allows us to be considered as a supplier by firms that only do business with ISO-certified companies.

It is my hope that our undertaking and persevering ISO certification will be seen by customers and prospects as a demonstration of our desire to be the best business partner possible. For us, it only validates the attitude and motivation that has driven the people at Fairchild Industries from day one. We are very proud of all the people here who have made our ISO status possible.

In order to help customers plan the receipt of products purchased from Fairchild Industries, we began in 2007 to email tracking information to customers for all UPS shipments. Later in the year, we began providing Advance Shipping Notices to customers who requested them. All orders with UPS and other shippers now contain UPC bar codes for easy tracking. Just this summer, several large customers requested that we begin electronic billing.

Our implementing these services all came at the requests of customers. If you would like us to include any of these shipping or billing practices with your account, please call Cindy at Fairchild Industries.

Muscle Car Restoration of New Hampshire is an aggressive, growing provider of replacement parts for Ford Mustangs and Jeeps that has been a Fairchild Industries customer for years. Company owner Tony Marchand thought so much of the products he recently used a window channel, hatch seal and door seal on one of his show cars, pictured here.

The company website promises high quality parts and accessories that meet or exceed OEM expectations, further stating that these parts are not the cheapest, nor are they the most expensive. They are simply the best. This philosophy exactly mirrors the things we say to customers and prospects every day: quality costs money, but not too much. Thank you, Tony, for making us part of your show car.

One of the main requirements for ISO certification is putting a process in place for continual improvement of quality practices. We have now formalized that strategy in a process we call "The Fairchild Way," in order to perform warehousing where everyone is CEOS - clean, efficient, organized and safe. The directive assigns specific responsibilities to personnel to pay attention to packaging, warehouse supplies, manage samples, organization of the shipping area and more.

Heading this effort is Fairchild Industries veteran Warehouse Supervisor Rafael Sandoval who just celebrated his 10th anniversary with the company. "By paying close attention to all the details, we have been able to free up some badly needed warehouse space," he said recently. "We have new product coming in every day. But we've found that even as we grow, when things are neat and organized and individuals take responsibility for each area, the job of keeping stock and filling orders becomes easier. It has taken a lot of time and attention to get to this point." When he's not overseeing production, warehouse operations or perfecting prototype parts, Rafael may be found playing futbol with co-workers behind the building. He is married and the proud father of two sons, aged 8 and 14.
