We at Fairchild Industries wish to thank our customers and suppliers for making 2006 the best year in the company’s history. We broadened the technologies we offer, brought out more new products and began working with more new customers than ever before, all while providing the great level of personal service people have come to expect of us every day. We find ourselves going global with the non-US portion of our customer base rising significantly.

As we venture into 2007, we build on our strengths, will continue to improve the internal functions of the company and are moving toward our ISO audit. You can expect to see more Fairchild Industries products available via the Internet. And you can expect to see company products represented in more markets throughout North America.

Thanks to you our great customers and suppliers, these are exciting times.

In 2006, Fairchild Industries made the conscious decision to expand the “under the hood” products we offer to the automotive components aftermarket and the engine rebuilding industry. This was no small decision, as we knew we would be working our way into new sales channels for new product applications. The results to date have been very encouraging. Several customers are evaluating our technology for oil seals and gasket seals to be parts in very large engines. One large off-road machinery manufacturer is evaluating shaft seals for inclusion in its new product development. This is a very competitive arena with long product lead-times and exhaustive technical evaluation. Nonetheless, the people who have invited us in like the way we do business. We keep our promises. We offer dependable quality for a fair price. And we can do business with them anywhere in the world.

We have sold products outside of the US, mainly to the Canadian market for many years. Now, following a successful exhibition in Mexico City, we are beginning to supply quality weather strip products to customers south of the border. Auto restoration and repair of US-made vehicles is big business in this part of the world where people keep their vehicles far longer than in the US market. Fairchild Industries is well positioned to be a primary supplier to this industry with OEM replacement products for GM, Ford and Chrysler vehicles from 1960 to current and with new seals for a variety of models including SUVs such as Yukon, Denali and light trucks, ’90 to current.

Longstanding customers know how intensely we work every day to develop and improve products. Here are two recent examples of that effort:

Specifically, it’s called a “fixed window molding and channel” where a window channel and weather strip are combined into a single part. It sounds simple, but in fact, the finished product combines metal, rubber and flocking into a strip that must be flexible enough to make tight turns and integrate attachment hardware. To do this requires the most sophisticated technology in the rubber business today. The part is used on rear doors for a variety of vehicles including Ford’s Crown Victoria and Explorer, Chevy's Blazer, Envoy, Cobalt and Malibu. But here’s the really great news. Fairchild Industries is one of the few companies in the WORLD that can supply this product match to the OE part. Let us know if this is the type of capability you need and we'll be glad to look at your application or design.

In addition, we have developed our beltline weather strip products for Ford Explorer to further penetrate the Tier 1 market.

Fairchild Industries is pleased to welcome Michael Rapp to its sales staff for industrial accounts. Prior to joining the company, Michael spent 10 years in the electronics manufacturing industry providing electrical and electronic components and rechargeable batteries to the automotive, industrial, medical and communication industries. These are the same types of businesses touched by Fairchild Industries. Initially, he will represent the company at Case New Holland for construction and agricultural equipment as well as Auto Meter, Adams Thermal, Air Hawk and UPI.

“I see joining Fairchild Industries as a great opportunity,” he said. “This is a progressive company that is willing to do whatever it takes to fulfill our customer needs. Products are technologically up to date and quality control is excellent which means I can meet customer needs with confidence, knowing they will perform well. I see this organization as one that will continue to be forward-thinking far into the future with a can-do attitude to meet any customer’s ever-changing needs.”
