As Fairchild Industries brings its policies and practices up to ISO standards, the changes are both exciting and challenging. For years, we have built our reputation upon providing customers with the product selection, quality and attention to order detail they need to make doing business with us pleasant and profitable. With ISO, we are casting those quality practices into firm policies and appointing experienced people to ensure they are carried out. Documenting our practices and procedures will allow us to continue to develop new customers and markets.
ISO Certification requires regular input from customers. Thus,in a customer satisfaction survey conducted between April and July of this year, we asked 30 of our top buyers to rate Fairchild Industries on our customer service, inquiry response time, quality issues response time, meeting purchase specifications, meeting packaging requests, meeting ship dates and pricing competitiveness. Across the board, we were rated very good or excellent. Thank you to everyone who responded.
Meanwhile, we continue to add products to our inventory. A new catalog of more than 40 push-on trim seal profiles has just been produced. Why not email us for your copy at info@fairchildind.com? In the next few weeks, you will be able to review it online at www.fairchildind.com.

Fairchild Industries will exhibit at the SEMA and AAPEX shows in Las Vegas, NV this October 31 to November 3. Our booth number at AAPEX is #1157 in the light truck section of the show.

At SEMA, look for us in the Restoration Section next to General Motors. Hanging aisle signs and an eight-foot-tall kiosk sign should help you find us at booth #23582. New this year will be a vent window seal assembly for ’76-’86 Jeep CJ Scrambler and ’87-’95 Wrangler, OEM #s 55176280 and 81. Also added are new products for ’94-’04 Mustang Coupe, Crown Victoria, Corvette and new seals for a variety of SUVs such as Yukon, Denali and light trucks, ’90 to current. We've added eight pages to our catalog which list all the new products, including Camaro and Firebird that will be available by the end of the year.

It is always a pleasure to welcome new companies to the Fairchild Industries family. In recent months, we have seen quite a few new faces. On the automotive side, we welcome Morris 4x4 of Pompano Beach, FL (www.jeep4x4center.com and www.cyberjeep.com ). On the industrial side, we are pleased to service the ongoing needs of McMaster-Carr (www.mcmaster.com) and Mitsubishi Forklift (www.mit-lift.com ). Also, we have begun working with a major engine manufacturer to provide a variety of “under-the-hood” products, primarily engine and transmission sealing components. We hope to give you more specifics in a future newsletter.

We say welcome and thanks to these and hundreds of other companies who make Fairchild Industries their vendor of choice for specific automotive and industrial products.

For more than eight years, Ruben Velez has been an important part of Fairchild Industries quality control. As the Incoming Inspection Supervisor, it has been Ruben’s responsibility to make sure every part accepted into the warehouse met our standards. Now Ruben is using his quality control expertise to fulfill the ISO-specified role of Management Representative in order to oversee quality standards throughout the organization. In this new role, he will oversee acceptance of new products, will monitor order fulfillment processes and he will still keep an eye on the truckloads of product that come to the Fairchild Industries.

Ruben is married, the father of one daughter and lives in the Chicago area.
