Quality is the top consideration of nearly every company that comes to Fairchild Industries looking for manufactured parts. This is understandable. With the growth of global sourcing, end-users want assurances that the finished products will be made to acceptable standards. We have long operated according to ISO standards, but in 2005, we began the formal certification process. We are on track to become a registered ISO9000-2001 company in 2006.

ISO standards assure that a business establishes acceptable benchmarks for design development, material selection, raw material consistency, manufacturing processes and continuous quality inspection. ISO standards mirror the Fairchild Industries commitment of providing quality parts and service from the point of inception through delivery of the final product. Companies that use ISO-certified suppliers have learned the benefits of 1) predictable design-to-production times, 2) quality products delivered on time, and 3) rapid problem resolution. In February, 2006, Fairchild Industries General Manager Joel Schauer will travel to New Delhi and Mumbai, India to meet with business partners and review their quality systems. He looks to strengthen already good relationships and to assure work being produced for key accounts is on track.

Products come to the Fairchild Industries facility in Lake Zurich, IL from strategic partners worldwide. Joel travels to key suppliers frequently to keep in close contact with them. He says, “We become increasingly like-minded, developing mutual trust for each other and going the extra mile when needed. Not only is this attitude in our best interests, it is one more way we can ensure our customers that their orders will arrive on time and according to spec.”

As announced at the SEMA and AAPEX shows in November, Fairchild Industries has significantly expanded its line of trim seal and weather stripping products. “In response to customer requests for trim profiles manufactured for more creative projects with closer tolerances, we have added over 40 products to our standard inventory that should meet and exceed those customer expectations,” said Joel Schauer, General Manager of the Company.

“In addition, we have developed a new product line of under-the-hood components, including oil seals, O-rings, bonded seals, gaskets and wipers made of a variety of rubber, elastomeric, plastic and metal materials,” Schauer said. “This is an area that allows us to leverage our expertise in high-quality engineering, precision manufacturing and our ability to deliver the right material to meet the customer’s application.”

Fairchild Industries is a light manufacturer with global sourcing for rubber, plastic, bonded and metal components.
